S & J Australian Scrap Tyre Disposals

Since 1991, S & J Australian Scrap Tyre Disposals has worked in the legal disposal and recycling of scrap tyres. As the industry has progressed, our operation has grown and adapted alongside it. What started as a simple collection and landfill delivery has evolved into a structured recycling process where tyres are inspected, sorted and supplied into secondary markets rather than buried.

If you are looking for secure, full-time work with a long-standing Queensland business that values reliability and hard work, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

Training, employment, and ongoing opportunities with us

We regularly seek motivated individuals to join our team of truck driver roles based out of Ipswich. Our work involves the collection of used tyres from retail outlets and transport to recycling facilities throughout Queensland and the northern region of New South Wales.

For those new to heavy vehicles, entry-level opportunities are available for applicants holding a manual car licence.

Training is provided, and there is a pathway toward MR (Medium Rigid) and HR (High Rigid) licensing for team members who demonstrate reliability and commitment. Many of our drivers have progressed this way over time.

What our truck driver roles involve

While responsibilities vary across roles, typical duties within our operations include:

Local runs are available, and some regional work may be required depending on the role. Where travel is involved, away allowances and accommodation are provided.

Our standard hours are performed across a four-day week, providing extended weekends, with overtime available. Base hours are supported by bonus structures that reward consistency and strong performance.

Qualifications and requirements

We are looking for people who show up on time, treat equipment with respect and approach each day with a practical mindset.

Successful applicants require:

This is manual work that requires effort and attention to safety. It suits individuals who are comfortable working outdoors and who take responsibility for completing their tasks with care.
